You may already know that Fredrik and I are
big fans of Babylon 5, but here is the proof.
It just so happened that as I was updating my B5
site, I found an announcement in the newsgroups about a special and exclusive event
which J. Michael Straczynski (writer/creator of B5) would be attending in Vancouver, BC.
JMS is an extremely busy man and does not do appearances often but since he is now
working in BC on a new project (B5: Legend of the Rangers,
a TV movie/possible series for the SciFi Channel), he
agreed to do this one. So, I had the incredible good luck to participate in a
gathering of fans from the Northwest on this very
special occasion.
I used Photoshop to brighten up the pictures since they were so dark so I hope they
turned out OK. We have a new digital camera that we are still trying to learn how to
use properly and the lighting in the lecture hall was very dim. There is a
great report (and
some more pictures) about the Gathering written by some of the organizers. Also, if you
recognize any of the events/pictures/stories that go with these pictures, please
email me.

A final look back (sorry, not enought light to really see that well) at
the dwindling autograph line. It was a wonderful experience and I was so
glad I was able to participate.

Finally, we gather outside to cool off (it was so hot in there!) and share
our experiences. There was a bus strike going on in Vancouver so I had offered
the two seats in my car to some fellow members. To the left is Richard Postgate,
in the center is Ken Wong and I am off to the right. You can even see our dog,
Sadie in the background.

JMS wrote this little horror novel after Crusade ended and it was
published in 2000. I had this kewl silver pen that shows off JMS'
signature quite nicely. For more information about this book, visit my

I love JMS' comics that he has had a chance to write and I am really
enjoying them. Therefore, I had to have them signed.
I picked
issues based solely on how they would look with a signature. For more
information about this issue, visit my
Midnight
Nation page in The Abyss.

It is almost too bad that I did not have a gold pen for JMS to sign this
gorgeous issue but I think it still turned out great. I think it is my
favorite of the bunch. For more information about this issue, visit my

Unfortunately, there is not any merchandise available yet for Babylon 5:
Legend of the Rangers so we had to make due with the signs that were
printed out. Starting at the top right of the paper and going clockwise:
Enid Raye Adams (Firell), Jennie Hogan (Na'Feel), Gus Lynch (Tirk), Warren
Takeuchi (Kitaro Sasaki), Myriam Sirois (Sarah Cantrell), Dean Marshall
(Malcolm Bridges), Alex Zahara (Dulann), and The Great Maker in the center.
