IN THE BEGINING...
I got it into my head one day to join a Toad the Wet Sprocket webring.
Only thing is, when I tried to, I found out the ring was no longer
active. So, then I decided that I wanted to try my hand at running a
ring and I contacted the ring mistress, Bree Culnan. I knew her from
the Toad mailing list and so she was kind enough to pass along some
pointers and hand the baton over to me.
It is now called 'always changing probably' because that is the name of
one of their songs and it is also very appropriate for the web.
LATEST NEWS (1.8.2002)
I believe that everything has been done on my end to facilitate the migration
back to WebRing. It has not been entirely smooth or painless but WebRing were
the original creators and it promises more flexibility which Yahoo! never gave
us. Please contact me if you have any questions or
problems.
OLDER NEWS (1.30.01)
Well, I think I have gotten the ring to work reasonably well. Yahoo! has
definately made things much harder to configure and work with. For instance,
they assume everyone creates pages with a light background because the SSNB
(Server-Side Navigation Bar) looks like crap if you have light colored fonts.
The good thing is that they still support the HTML code fragment so I would
suggest you use that if the SSNB doesn't fit in with your page. Please use
the information on the Ring Members page to help
set up your ring and contact me if you
have any problems.
EVEN OLDER NEWS (1.25.01)
Back in September 2000, www.webring.org was taken over by
Yahoo! and I have associated my
ring ID with the Yahoo! ID but I have not had much time to work on
figuring out the new system. There were a lot of changes and not all of
them were good. Many features were lost and it has been difficult to
customize the ring like I could before.
